ELECTRIC CABLE/CONNECTOR CRIMPING TOOL

Over the last few years our operational personnel have had occasion to crimp from AWG size #8 to 4/0 heavy duty cables to various large electrical power lugs (stud size 3/16 to 1/2 inch), to electrical systems including heavy duty 18 wheel tractor trailer units, aircraft, boats, trailers of all kinds, industrial building electrical systems, electric home repair, farm equipment, etc.

We were not able to find a suitable hand tool with multiple cable size options to interface with a spectrum of power lug sizes.

In addition the hand tool is required to be small in size for use in existing compact equipment such as aircraft engines, powerboats, cars, light trucks, sport vehicles, etc. High to very high crimping forces are also required without use of large double action crimpers presently available. The end result of our in house study was the conclusion that we had to design - develop - and produce our own small hand tool for these applications. The final result is illustrated in the drawings and photos listed below.

This design allows use of all 7/16 (11 mm metric) hex head wrenches presently in your tool box, to crimp a large variety of cables with appropriate connectors.
